We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to GodSample
Day 37 of 365
In Genesis 50, Joseph’s brothers fear retribution after their father’s death, but Joseph offers mercy instead, saying, “What you meant for evil, God meant for good.” This profound forgiveness reveals Joseph’s trust in God’s justice and sovereignty. The Holy Spirit works in us to show this same mercy, guiding us to release vengeance and trust in God’s greater plan.
In Matthew 23, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees for neglecting justice, mercy, and faithfulness, underscoring that true righteousness is rooted in compassion. The Spirit helps us seek justice that reflects God’s heart, teaching us to extend mercy and grace, even when it’s difficult.
Today, ask the Spirit to help you embody God’s justice and mercy. Let Him lead you to forgive and extend compassion, knowing that God can bring good even from what others meant for harm.

About this Plan
We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God is a 365-day Bible reading plan led by Bishop Gary Lewis, the General Overseer of the Church of God. The plan is designed to deepen your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Each day begins with a short devotional, followed by carefully curated Scripture readings, and concludes with the S.O.A.P. exercise—Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Through this plan, you’ll grow in biblical literacy, discover God’s mercy and purpose, and learn to partner with Him in His Kingdom work.
