Good FaithSample
Daniel is one of the most remembered and honored figures in the Old Testament. Why? Well, besides walking out of the lion’s den unscathed, Daniel’s story is one that’s focused on because it shows us how good faith can make an impact. As a follower of God, Daniel knew that the only God to be praised was the God he followed. So when a decree went out to bow down and worship another, Daniel refused. Knowing it would get him in trouble, knowing he’d be facing persecution, knowing he’d put himself at risk, he remained steady in faith and trusted God with each step. And you know what? God showed up!
Later in Daniel’s life, God’s angel spoke to Daniel directly—that’s how precious God’s relationship with Daniel was. The angel spoke strength into Daniel when Daniel needed it. And what did it do for Daniel? It gave him strength! Strength to stay faithful, strength to keep going, strength to trust God with the next step. And it can do the same for us!
When we choose to walk forward faithfully, when it’s easy, and when it’s not, we can trust that God will meet us step after step with strength to keep going. Commit to spending time reading more about Daniel’s life and faith this week. As you do, consider what you can learn about growing a good faith from his story.

But while phrases like that get tossed around in our vocabulary all the time, have you ever stopped to wonder what faith is really all about? At its core, faith is all trust, hope, and confidence. In this devotional, we’ll look at how putting our faith in Jesus shapes the way we live.
