Prayers of the Bible

DAY 16 OF 32

How often do you pause to praise God for His wisdom and power?

Today’s reading is about a prayer from the book of Daniel.

Daniel’s life was on the line. King Nebuchadnezzar demanded the impossible: interpret a dream he wouldn’t even describe. Yet Daniel trusted in the God of wisdom and might, and God revealed the dream’s meaning to him. Daniel’s response? A prayer of pure praise: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.”

In this short prayer, Daniel acknowledges God as the sovereign ruler over time and kingdoms, the giver of wisdom, and the revealer of mysteries. Daniel doesn’t take credit for his insight but humbly worships the God who provides all things. It’s a reminder that every answer to prayer is an opportunity to glorify God, not ourselves.

Jesus also modeled this kind of praise. Before feeding the 5,000, He gave thanks, trusting His Father to provide. Prayer isn’t just about asking for help; it’s about recognizing who God is and delighting in His character.

Today, ponder this: How can praising God for His wisdom and power reshape your perspective on the challenges you’re facing?
