DAY 75 OF 90

Week 12
(Numbers 31–36, Deuteronomy 1–8, Psalm 32–35, Matthew 7–13)

Devotional
In Deuteronomy 6, God gives a clear command:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

Keeping God’s Word in our hearts is the key to moving beyond just acknowledging Him to truly knowing Him and letting Him guide us daily. Jesus emphasizes this in Matthew 7, where He tells us that to truly know Him, we must do His will. It’s easy to reduce this to good deeds in His name, but living under the leadership of the Holy Spirit requires a deeper knowledge of Him. Knowing God in our heads is different from knowing Him in our hearts, but that’s the level of relationship God desires with us.

Prayer
Take time to pray for your church to be a place where people not only learn about God but truly come to know Him in their hearts and allow Him to lead them daily. We want our churches to be filled with people who don’t just acknowledge God’s existence or His moral code but who have given Him complete leadership in their lives, modeling Jesus in everything they do and say.

About this Plan

Find & Follow Jesus, Quarter 1

Follow our quarterly plans to read through the entire Bible in one year, plus a bonus round through the Gospels and Romans. Each day has one verse we encourage you to write down, journal about, or memorize, and then you can read sections from both the Old Testament and New Testament. Every week we provide an additional devotional for further discussion on that week's themes.
