Living in Increase (Part 10) - Increase in AwarenessSample
The Weapons We Use
We know we’re supposed to resist the enemy, but how do we resist him? Is it by physical or spiritual strength? 2 Corinthians 10:4 says that we use “God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons” when we engage in spiritual warfare. Spiritual warfare is not conducted by earthly weapons, violence, shouting, arguing, or cursing because we are not fighting against people. Our battle is not against “flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world” (Ephesians 6:12).
Even when we disagree with others, we are not fighting them. We are fighting the forces of darkness in their lives, which means we do not fight like the world fights. While the world may say to expose people on social media, throw punches, or resort to violence, God teaches us to fight His way. His way includes tearing down “the strongholds of human reasoning” and destroying “false arguments” by “capturing rebellious thoughts” and teaching them to “obey God” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
A lot of the warfare we experience is in our minds. Therefore, we must know God’s Word and think about it constantly. If a thought emerges that conflicts with the Bible, we must take captive that thought and make it obedient to Christ by speaking Scripture.
We don’t fight the way the world fights. Instead, we have a set of heavenly weapons to demolish arguments and tear down strongholds!
