Living in Increase (Part 7) - Increase in PrayerSample
"Lead Us Not into Temptation but Deliver Us from the Evil One."
In Luke 11:4, Jesus says we are to ask that we not be put into a place where temptation will overcome us.
It’s not wrong to be tempted; Jesus was (Matthew 4)! When Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, Jesus recognized that His Source of Strength was the Lord. Jesus responded to the temptation of the enemy by saying, “Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). In that same way, we are to depend on God and seek Him when we are presented with the opportunity to sin.
First Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except something common to mankind; and God is faithful, so He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it” (NASB).
A popular phrase says, “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” However, that’s not true. God will allow us to walk through hard things where we depend on Him and His Strength, but He will always provide a way out!

Action Step: Ask a friend to check in on you with things you struggle with. If you don’t have a Godly friend, make it a priority to join a small group or volunteer team to meet some good, Godly people.
