A Year in Luke/ActsNäide

Eventually, Zechariah catches up with what is going on! When he can finally speak again, notice how he starts with the big picture of Israel’s story, with Abraham in the middle, and near the end, makes it personal to his son, John.
Zechariah’s words are beautiful, and the last lines of his prophecy are worth meditating on this advent season:
“By the tender mercy of our God,
the dawn from on high will break upon us,
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace” (v78).
