A Year in Luke/ActsNäide

After the Spirit rests on Jesus as a dove and we reflect last week on John’s message of a voice in the wilderness, Jesus is led further into the wilderness. In this, he identifies with a key part of Israel’s story.
After being liberated from Egypt and brought through the waters in the parting of the sea, the Israelites famously wandered the desert for an incredible forty years because of their grumbling, complaining, and various mistakes. Jesus now mimics Israel’s journey. After baptism, he heads into the wilderness. Will he succeed where Israel failed?
