Dare to Be WeakNäide

Being weak. Is that good…?

…”Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9b).

Paul did not write here that he enjoyed being faced with his weaknesses. Lacking in physical strength, he could not always be what he wanted to be. But he had also discovered that he did not need to be more than he could be. You can become restless and feel dissatisfied when you cannot do for God the things you want to do. It can make you feel inadequate. You are allowed to give God the best you have, but He never asks you to be stronger than you actually are or to give more than you have. Indeed, He, Himself, comes to your aid when your strength falls short.

Christ's strength and power overcame the power of sin and death on the cross. Christ's power is the kind by which He rose from the dead. With that power He comes to indwell you! Dwelling means permanently staying somewhere. Don't be afraid to acknowledge your own weakness and surrender it to Christ. It gives Him room to be permanently present in your life with His power.
