Parable of the Owner of a House
In Matthew 13:52, Jesus shares a brief parable about the owner of a house, saying:
"And He said to them, 'Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.'"
Jesus compares the scribes who have been instructed in the ways of the kingdom of heaven to the master of a house. Just as a master of a home brings out new and old treasures, a scribe trained for the kingdom of heaven shares both new revelations and the timeless wisdom of God's word.
