Thanksgiving: A Weapon of War

DAY 1 OF 3

Day 1: Thanksgiving as a Strategy of War

Written by Dr. Temi Michael-O

Key Verse:“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”2 Corinthians 10:4-6

Thanksgiving is a spiritual weapon of warfare against the enemy's relentless attempts to cultivate seeds of offense toward God and people (particularly our loved ones) in our hearts and minds. We have an adversary who specializes in deception and the propagation of lies. He is a liar and deceiver (John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 11:3). In difficult times, he whispers lies that God isn't who His Word says He is. In good times, the adversary may deceive one to believe their own wisdom or strength is solely responsible for positive experience. When we give thanks at all times, we acknowledge God's faithfulness in every season (2 Timothy 2:13; Numbers 23:19). When we give thanks in every season, we bring the realm of darkness into a state of confusion as they wonder why we keep rejoicing.

Today, adjust your helmet of salvation, draw from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3), and unlock the gates (Psalm 100:4) you need for total healing, spiritual shifts, financial blessings, or deliverance.

Take a moment to thank God for His mercies, faithfulness, and compassion, and thank Him in advance as you wait for the physical manifestation of the answers to your prayers. Thank God for the restoration of relationships that align with His will. Thank the Lord for a sound mind to read this plan. Thank God for loved ones' salvation and freedom from addictions. Be sure to dance as you give God thanks.

Day 2

About this Plan

Thanksgiving: A Weapon of War

Throughout Scripture, we find examples of thanksgiving used as a powerful tool to invite God’s presence, confuse the enemy, and bring about miraculous victories. This plan is an invitation to discover the profound impact of thanksgiving in our lives and to cultivate a heart of gratitude that releases God’s power in ways we may never have imagined.
