Faithful: Leaving a Legacy of IntegritySample
Day 1: Be Faithful as I Am Faithful
Transformation is a process that begins in the mind and completes its work, at the end of our race, with daily decisions made along the journey. Partnering with God along the way leads us to leaving a legacy of integrity to those who come behind us, as we live lives worthy of the calling Jesus made possible. He walked the earth as a faithful son of God and lived a life of integrity seen and modeled in the flesh. He left us with his eternal Word and the Holy Spirit so that throughout the generations, we could see him, believe in him, and know him as we learn to walk with him, look like him, and lead others to him.
In this new covenant partnership with Jesus, his part was completed on the cross, providing cleansing blood that forgives and redeems us from all sin. Our part in the partnership is to put our faith and trust in him and receive the righteousness of Christ as our inheritance and a means of being restored back to fellowship with the Father.
Our part is to keep a clear conscience and walk before the Lord faithfully, with integrity of heart and uprightness. His part of the promise is that he will establish our home when we do, because we have made space for his son, Jesus, to dwell in our hearts and make his home among us.
Our part of the partnership is to be faithful to run our race until completion. Until that day, let’s live our lives encouraging one another to endure with the attitude of Paul found in Philippians 3:14 (NLT). He said, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
When I turned from my sinful ways and surrendered my life to Christ, I knew I wanted to live a life of integrity, though I was not sure how to do it. I told the Lord, if he would help me change, I would leave no stone unturned. I would need a lifestyle transformation on this integrity journey and I needed his help. Though it would be a difficult process, it was the kindness of the Lord that led me to repentance, delivered me, and saved my soul, my marriage, my family, my business, and my legacy that I will now pass on through the generations.
As an added bonus, God gave me a new name. He saw me for who he created me to be and he saw the blood of Jesus covering me, then he spoke to my heart and called me “Faithful.” God has been faithful in keeping his promise to help me keep mine. When I stumble on the racetrack, he helps me get up. When I feel discouraged, he lifts me up. And when I need a hand, he sends a friend to walk with me.
In my new release book, “He Calls Me Faithful,” I share my journey to leave a legacy of integrity to my natural-born children and grandchildren and to the spiritual sons and daughters into whom my wife and I speak life. Perhaps it will help you on your journey, too.
Prayer:
Lord, based on your Word, may I be found faithful, “not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ — the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.” Amen
About this Plan
Living faithfully starts with a transformed mind and daily decisions. It’s a partnership with God, living a life worthy of Jesus’ calling. His work was finished on the cross; our role is to stay faithful and finish the race. As Paul said in Philippians 3:14 (NLT), “I press on to reach the end and receive the heavenly prize.” This 6-day study offers practical steps for living with integrity and leaving a legacy of faithfulness.
