Have you ever wondered who you truly are? Not just your name or your role in life, but at the very core—who are you? Maybe you’ve felt lost, uncertain about your identity, or have believed the lie that you’re not enough. I’ve been there too, questioning my worth and wondering if I could ever be whole again. But I’m here to tell you something that changed everything for me, and it can change everything for you too.
You are made in the image of God.
This isn’t just a nice phrase or a distant theological idea. It’s the most profound truth about you. Right now, as you read these words, God is speaking directly to your heart, reminding you of who you truly are. You are His. You are a reflection of the Creator Himself. That means you carry within you the beauty, strength, and purpose of God. You are not here by accident. Every part of you—your personality, your gifts, your desires—was designed with intention.
There have probably been moments in your life where you felt the weight of brokenness, where you questioned your identity because of things you’ve been through. Maybe you’ve even looked in the mirror and wondered, “Who am I, really?” But here’s the truth: you are not defined by your past, your mistakes, or the lies you’ve believed about yourself. You are defined by God, and He says you are made in His image. His fingerprints are all over your life.
When God created you, He placed His nature within you. That means you are created to love, to create, to bring life and goodness into the world. You were made to reflect His heart to others. And no matter what you’ve been through or how you’ve struggled, that truth has never changed.
So let me ask you: What would change in your life if you truly believed you were made in the image of God? How would you see yourself differently? How would you approach the challenges and pain in your life if you knew, deep down, that you were made with divine purpose?
I want to encourage you today: lean into that truth. Ask God to show you more of who you are in Him. Let Him remind you that you are loved, chosen, and set apart to reflect His glory. When you begin to see yourself as God sees you—as His image-bearer—you will walk with a new sense of purpose and confidence. You’ll know that nothing can take away the identity He has given you.
Activation:
Take a few moments to reflect on this: You are made in the image of God. Write down what that means to you today. Ask God to reveal any area of your life where you’ve believed something different—where you’ve let lies or insecurity shape your view of yourself. Then, pray and declare the truth over your life: "I am made in the image of God, and nothing can take that away from me."
