Finding Your Purpose Through FaithSample
Three years ago I left my, then, dream job to start my own company. While I loved what I was helping to build and the impact I was blessed to make on that team and in that environment, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was meant to be doing something different.
Now, I’ll tell you a joke, but I’ll never tell you a lie: I was terrified. Doubt echoed through my mind constantly. But, fortunately, one voice was louder.
Listen, there’s no perfect time to “jump”. All we have is God’s timing and that’s perfect within itself. Remember, courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s moving forward despite it, trusting that God’s got your back.
And here’s something else: God has equipped you with everything you need to succeed. He’s given you gifts, talents, and a sound mind to navigate life’s challenges. Trust in what He’s placed within you. Sometimes, the only thing standing between you and your breakthrough is your belief in yourself. God believes in you, so why not trust yourself, too?
Taking control of your life doesn’t mean you have to have it all figured out. It means recognizing that, with God’s help, you have the power to make choices that align with His purpose for you. It’s about stepping into the opportunities He places before you, knowing that even if you don’t have all the answers, He does. Your beautiful humanity means that perfection is not even on the table, so don’t be afraid to make mistakes. That’s how you learn!
Here are three things to keep in mind on this journey of finding purpose:
- Start Your Day with Prayer: Before diving into your to-do list, take a moment to ask God to guide your steps. Commit your plans to Him and ask for wisdom in making decisions. Prioritize based on impact and intention and do your best to remove urgency and impatience from your decision-making.
- Let Go of (the illusion of) Control: Identify one area of your life where you’ve been holding on too tightly. Practice releasing control and trusting God’s timing and direction. Detach from the outcome while knowing that it is well.
- Stay Open to God’s Leading: Be ready for God to shift your plans. Sometimes, His way might look different from what you imagined, but trust that His path is leading you to the best possible outcome.
Just as we’ve done for the past two days, it’s only right to end Finding your Purpose through Faith with a prayer.
Dear God,
Even when fear grips my heart and doubt clouds my mind, I choose to trust in You. Give me the courage to step forward in faith, knowing that You walk beside me every step of the way. Empower me to act boldly, not because I am fearless, but because my faith in You is greater than any fear. Let my life be a reflection of Your power at work in me, as I fulfill the purpose You have destined for me.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Amen.

Thank you so much for spending this time with me. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the fruit of your faith and courage, as you step into the fullness of the life God has for you. I’m rooting for you!
