Acts 3:11-26 | Who Are You Turning To?Sample

Acts 3:11-26 | Who Are You Turning To?

DAY 5 OF 5

Turn to Jesus. You can trust God on this. It’s not a long-shot bet and you’re not being deceived. That’s what Peter has to say.

Re-read what Peter tells these astonished people. Look at how much emphasis he puts on how what happened with Jesus was what God has been planning all along. “This is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer…. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you. Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people. Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets who have spoken have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers.”

The prophets, Moses, and since the time of Samuel, God has been talking about this. He’s been preparing you for this. This has been his promise all along. So you can trust him on this. It’s as established and firm as Moses, the prophets, and the Bible itself. What Peter is saying is that he’s declaring the same thing God’s prophets have been saying and that you can read about in the Bible itself. Turning to Jesus is what God wants. You can trust this is of him.

Sometimes turning to Jesus can be laced with uncertainty. “Is this really true,” we ask? “Is this really the right way?” Peter says yes. The promise is as faithful as God himself. Turn to Jesus. It’s been God’s plan all along.

If this plan helped orient you to the ongoing work and teaching of Jesus in this world, we encourage you to subscribe to our other plans on Acts.
