DAY 3 OF 7

You Have Quite a Few Enemies...

Do you have enemies?

I found myself asking that recently, as day after day, I opened the Bible and kept coming across verses that contained the word "enemies."

For example: "In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness." (Psalm 31:1 NIV)

And each time, I thought, "Sure, David had quite a few enemies. But that doesn't resonate with me. It has nothing to do with me." The next morning, I came across another Psalm about "enemies," and it clicked.

"I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me." (Psalm 30:1-2 NIV)

This is MY story! Yes, with my eating disorders back then, I was more dead than alive... until I cried out to God, and He gave me a new life!

And suddenly, I understood what the word "enemies" means in your life and mine today! Oh my, then we have quite a few enemies!

The word "enemies" represents all those lies swirling in your head. The lies that keep telling you, "Haha, do you really think you can make something of your life? Haha, don't even bother trying." Or: "Your life has always been broken, and it will continue that way," or those voices that drive you to harm yourself and your body.

These are enemies that are very real but are rarely recognized as such.

And you know what they have in common with David's enemies, who were usually people and fighters? They surround you in a way that makes you believe there's no way out!

Do you recognize what your enemies are now? Don't be afraid, for your God is with you as you realize this. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

Your God hears your cry. Yes, He wants to be your savior too!

Recognize your enemies, cry out to God for help, and be set free!

You are a miracle!

About this Plan

Memory Lane

This week, we want to take a little memory tour together. We've heard many divine truths, but honestly, we may have forgotten these truths because they're not right in front of us. However, there are often great blessings hidden behind these very simple things! Look forward to these blessings as we remember this week.
