God Is

If God is who he says he is, why hold back?

I have been asking God a lot of questions lately. Questions that, when I really think about what I’m asking him, seem to reveal my own doubt about who he says he is and what he says he can do. When I realize the nature of my questioning, I immediately feel sheepish and wonder if I’ve become lost to him. And do you know how he responds?

With a smile. The kind where his eyes crinkle in the corners and his gaze, so full of wisdom, glistens at me with pride.

And suddenly I am closer to him than I’ve known before.

Then, he starts to reveal his wisdom and kindness to me with new light in the beauty of my surroundings. And there, in his presence, I know that the answers I seek will either come with time, or they will remain his for eternity, the way he has designed it to be.

In that I find peace. A renewed knowing that he is who he says he is.

God is... ever-present, as we see in today's Psalm.

God is... our answer, as we hear in Matthew.

God is... truth, as we read in John.

However this finds you today, be encouraged that God is ready to receive you and He can handle what you bring to Him. If God is who he says he is,why hold back?
