Faith, Part 3 of 3Sample

Faith, Part 3 of 3

DAY 1 OF 9

Faith is not reserved only for a limited group of people

“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.” (Romans 3:21-22)

The Jewish people have a special relationship with the Lord God. With this people He made His covenant, they were commissioned to build a temple where God could dwell among the people, and from this people the Lord Jesus was born. This does not mean, however, that only Jews can believe in God, or that only they can be saved. Psalm 117 exhorts us, “Praise the Lord, all nations! Extol him, all peoples!”

Because the Lord Jesus lived, preached, and did His miracles in (the immediate area around) Israel, it made sense that the first believers were also Jews. But soon the good news about Him spread to other nations, and people from other nations also came to faith. So the apostle Paul concludes, “Is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also” (Romans 3:29).

“There is no distinction,” he says a few verses earlier. Whatever people you come from, whatever social position you have or whatever language you speak: If you believe in Jesus Christ, you will be saved. The Gospel is for everyone!
