Faith for the Fertility Journey a 3-Day Plan by Allison Dolcy DanielsSample
Day 3
“There's always more yellow paint.”
I sat in a coffee shop and poured out to a friend sharing what God had recently shown me.
I had been single into my late 30s before getting married. Two more fertility surgeries totaled seven procedures over 25 years.
The spare room in our home had been painted a yellow nursery just like in Father of the Bride. It was my dream nursery. The fulfillment of that dream seemed far off.
Seasons have changed. The waiting in faith continues. After so many years, what do you do when the prayer hasn’t been answered yet?
I heard a woman on the other side of her journey say, “Don’t ever give up trusting God for motherhood, but hold loosely the how.”
Her statement opened my heart to respond “God I’m not going to tell you how to do it, I’m just going to place my heart in your hands and live for Your glory, now.”
There is a season of joy that God has created for you to receive now.
One day as I sat in my yellow nursery-turned-home office, I heard the Lord say “You know whatever the color, you have to place your dreams for motherhood in My hands. There’s always more yellow paint.” He knew I wanted to paint green, but I was scared I was losing the dream.
Hebrews 10:23 hung on the wall affirming what God had said - He who promised is faithful.
My fertility story is still unfolding. It’s a long walk on deep water that requires me to surrender my heart in trust to a good God. Yellow paint, green paint, children by birth, adoption, or none at all (gulp) - He holds my life in His hands.
What I find now is unshakeable faith in God and joy in the waiting.
Sweet sister, place your family dreams in the tender hands of our Father and experience all the beauty of life that He has for you now.
He allows us to walk this fertility journey, but the suffering should sanctify us not crush us. The process should perfect us as we draw closer to God’s presence. His glory should be revealed as we grow in Him.
Carry the hope for motherhood and live fully in the present. God desires you to know abundant joy at this moment, even before you see the fulfillment of the promise.
While you’re waiting, don’t forget to live with joy that runs over to a lost and dying world. That is the purpose of all of this. Our fertility journey, wherever it goes, should build unwavering faith in God and point people to worship the Lord who is always and forever good.

About this Plan
A fertility journey is a rollercoaster of emotions. Through the highs and lows God has given us a promise, He is faithful. May your heart experience joy in the waiting as the Lord draws near to you and calls us to remember that He is always good.
