RootedNäide

When you were a kid, did your parent or other adults in your life ever hang up your artwork around their house? Even if you only created a big, bright, scribbly mess on the paper, they probably proudly displayed it for everyone to see. Where some people saw a mess, they saw a masterpiece. Why? Because they loved you! Well, the same goes for the way God sees you. When God looks at you and the purpose you have in this world, God sees you well below the surface.
He doesn’t just see our jobs, our efforts, our successes, our failures, our relationships, and our talents. He sees a masterpiece—a person uniquely made to do amazing things that only you can do. You don’t have to change anything about who you are for God to be proud of you. You don’t have to do more, work harder, prove anything. Instead, you can root yourself in the truth of who God made you to be. You can rest in being the beloved masterpiece that you are.
What makes it hard for you to believe that you’re a masterpiece? Share that with God today, asking for help to see yourself as the masterpiece you were created to be. Ask Him to help you root yourself in that reality this week.

About this Plan

Like a plant, our root system—our identity—is vitally important to our health. It’s how you see yourself in light of God, others, and the world. It’s what holds you when life changes, threatens, or causes you to question what’s true about you! We’ll look at how a healthy identity rooted in who God is will keep us strong, vibrant, and grounded no matter what comes our way.
