4 Ways to Be Sure if You Are Really Saved - - Not Everyone Is!Sample
Salvation: Just Believe & Be Saved
The message we hear at church is this: believe and you will be saved.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Yes, salvation through Jesus is for everyone. All that’s needed is to believe that Jesus really is the Son of the one true God, that he came to earth to die as payment for your sins, and that he rose again to rejoin God the Father in preparation of the new heaven and earth awaiting those who follow Him.
What a wonderful message! So simple and so easy. Nothing required, except to believe.
But is that it? Check these words of James, the brother of Jesus:
You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. – James 2:19
Even more frightening, check these words of Jesus himself:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’” – Matthew 7:21-23
With these words as background, how can you be sure of your salvation? Was it enough to just say, “Yes, Lord, I believe”?
This is the question we will answer in these readings, and to do so, we will present 4 signs, directly from the Bible, that are evidence of a true salvation that can never be lost.
Let’s close with these reassuring words from our Lord Jesus Christ:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” – John 10:28-29
