Never AloneSample
Finding Hope in Darkness
Loneliness, like winter nights, can grip us in its cold embrace. Loss, exclusion, and even forgotten memories can deepen the isolation. While these feelings feel personal and heavy, we are not unseen or alone.
I can vividly remember experiencing such loneliness and heartache. Having been married for 25 years, my wife turned around and said, "I don't think I have ever loved you; I no longer want to be married.” Suddenly, my whole world came crashing in, and I was alone in our family home. The emptiness, the uncertainty, the reality hit home.
I cried out to God and shed many tears. I clung to His word amid my brokenness and spent hours praying, journaling, and seeking fresh truths from the Bible.
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT and other scriptures became my anchor: "Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you."
This promise is also for you as well. God, the creator of the universe, walks beside you, offering strength and comfort. No matter how dark, He is always near.
If you are feeling lonely, can I encourage you to read Psalm 37:3-7 and let these verses speak to your heart.
I invite you to pray this prayer:
Heavenly Father. Even though I'm lonely, I can depend upon you. I put my hope and trust in you. Today, I choose to feed on your faithfulness, for you have always been good to me. As I delight myself in you, you have promised that you will give me the desires of my heart, so I choose to align my heart to your heart and ask that you make it soft and tender before you.
Today, I roll over my burdens, questions, uncertainty, and loneliness to you, believing that you will go before me to lead and guide. While waiting, I let go of everything that concerns me and quiet my heart in your presence, believing you know what is best and always have my best interests at heart. I thank you that I can trust you, knowing that you will bring your promises to pass within my life.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Remember that you are loved, even when you feel alone. Be a blessing to others. Answer someone's prayer by simply listening and caring. You are not alone in this journey. Let Godly hope guide you through the darkness.
