Grow With God: 31 Day DevotionalSample
YOUR WEAKNESS IS NO MATCH FOR GOD’S STRENGTH
DAY ELEVEN OF THIRTY ONE
This is honestly one of my favorite Scriptures. However, many people use it out of context. Some believe God wants us to be weak. They'll say: “He is not faithful to deliver us from sickness or disease or trials because He gets Glory from our suffering.” This is not accurate.
Look at it this way: we are born into a broken world, and (in our fallen nature) we are weak. We also fight a spiritual battle daily that will cost us our comfort, and ultimately control over our own life if we want to submit to God.
Before I was called into public ministry, one of my least favorite things to do was public speaking. I remember being shy and reserved for most of my life. As a toddler, I used to hide under my mom’s long flowing skirts because I didn’t want to interact with other people that often.
Doing what I do is such a testament of God’s Power because there’s no way I would choose it on my own.
Look at many of the people God used to win battles, rule nations, change the course of history, etc. A common theme was them asking “Why, me?!”
Think about the “weaknesses” you have. Maybe you’ve been shy. Insecure. Angry. Impatient. All of the above? I promise, God can and will work through you if you walk in His Power instead of your own.
Prayer: Ask God to help you to be used by Him despite your weaknesses so that you can become a walking testimony of His Transforming Power. Pray that He’ll help you to be bold and have unshakable faith in Him.
