Hope Beyond CircumstancesSample
In Whom
All human beings have been endowed with a portion of faith. When we think about faith, we often think of an outcome during an event, circumstance, or season. I have faith that things will turn out fine. The simple act of getting up and heading out to catch the bus to work tells us that we believe the bus will come at the same time as yesterday and that we will be able to board it.
The truest and most important aspect of faith is the object of faith, the what or whom in which we place our trust. When we believe in specific circumstances, we might not trust God if the situation doesn’t unfold as we imagine.
Some think faith is simply hoping for the outcomes we are waiting for. However, the foundation of faith is not in the results but in God’s power. There is an immense difference between believing in the One who can do all things and believing that a specific thing will come to pass.
Faith is the choice to trust in God. It is obeying without knowing what the outcome will be. Faith triggers the power of the Spirit of God. Our God is all-powerful, and when we place our trust in Him, we can be assured that His plans will be just because He is just. Even when what we hope for seems impossible to our eyes, He can make it possible. Miracles happen when God doesn’t conform to our desires but makes His desires ours.
Faith means trusting in God even when we don’t like or understand what He is doing. This is precisely what makes faith so powerful; so advantageous for us. Even if we obtain them, the results we desire don’t always turn out as we imagined. Our wisdom is flawed and incomplete, but God’s wisdom is true and limitless. His purpose for us is higher and more perfect than ours. As human beings, our desires and plans end with our lives, but the Lord is eternal.
Lord, today, I choose to place my trust in You. Regardless of the results I obtain, I know You have a higher purpose, even though I may not grasp it. You will fulfill Your promise to sustain me, and You will be with me always.
