Following Jesus' example of justice
Jesus, the epitome of love and compassion, consistently championed justice throughout His earthly ministry. His teachings and actions exemplified a profound commitment to righteousness, mercy, and equality. His example is the one we’re called to follow in bringing justice to our own communities. In Matthew 23:23, we see how important justice is to Him when He says to the religious leaders, ‘Woe to you… you have neglected the more important matters… justice, mercy and faithfulness,' Jesus didn’t want religion without justice.
In His own life, Jesus embodied justice through His compassionate outreach to the marginalised and oppressed. He healed the sick, dined with sinners, and defended the vulnerable, affirming the dignity and worth of every individual. Jesus’ ministry underscored the transformative power of justice when coupled with love and mercy.
As followers of Christ, advocating for justice in a broken world is part of our mandate. We’re called to stand in solidarity with the marginalised, speak out against injustice, and actively push back against systems of oppression. In Micah 6:8, we are reminded again of God’s profound desire for justice: ‘He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’
What does ‘loving mercy’ and ‘fighting for justice’ look like in your life today?

About this Plan
God does not merely choose to act justly – He is justice. His decisions are not swayed by external pressures or personal biases (Which Sign Will You Choose? – Dwayne Jeffries). As you follow this plan, be encouraged and empowered to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly every day (Micah 6:8), just as Jesus did.
