Holy Week: Symbols of Suffering and Life

DAY 5 OF 7

Cup

Reflection Prayer

Gratitude: Start the prayer by grounding yourself in gratitude. Become aware of the day's gifts, and acknowledge God's presence in every moment, even in challenges.

Ask for Light: Pray for the grace to see your day through God's eyes. Ask for insight into how you've experienced moments of struggle or surrender, similar to Jesus' experience in Gethsemane.

Review the Day: With the passage in mind, reflect on your day.

Struggle: Identify moments when you experienced internal struggle or felt overwhelmed. How did you respond to these challenges?

Surrender: Reflect on times when you were able to surrender your will to God's. Were there moments when it was particularly difficult to say, "Not what I want, but what You want"?

Support: Consider how you sought support in your moments of need. Did you reach out to God or others for help? How did you respond to others in their time of need?

Respond: Talk to God about what you've noticed. Share your struggles and moments of surrender. If you've failed to seek His will or to support others, ask for forgiveness and guidance.

Hopeful Intention: Inspired by Jesus' example of surrender, decide to make a specific change in your life. It could involve seeking God's will more earnestly, providing support to those around you, or praying for strength during trials.

End with a prayer of thanksgiving for God's presence in both struggle and surrender. Ask for the grace to face tomorrow with a heart open to God's will, trusting in His guidance and care.
