What Jesus Said About Spiritual Warfare

DAY 4 OF 6

Overcoming Satan and his demonic forces

Carefully study Ephesians 6:10-18.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power - (our lives are hidden with Christ in God - Colossians 3:3).

Ephesians 6:14 - Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist. We have to clothe ourselves with truth. Jesus is the Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth. We need to understand the truth of the cross as well as the truth and reality of the resurrection. In that, we have the power to keep standing.

Ephesians 6:14 - The breastplate of righteousness - Jesus is the Righteous One, and made us righteous through His blood. We must walk in righteousness and the freedom of our salvation.

Ephesians 6:15 - With your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. This means a readiness to go and share the gospel. Many are unwilling and start to live lives of comfort, and they open themselves to many temptations. This type of life makes the lives of many to grow cold.

Ephesians 6:16 - Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Our faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ - the victorious One. By faith, we move forward. By faith, we resist the devil and get involved in the work of the Kingdom of God, and by doing this we will always see the advance of the Kingdom of God.

Ephesians 6:17 - And take the helmet of salvation. We have to protect our minds, thoughts, and reasoning with this fact: we are saved, and the devil cannot take that away from us (1 Peter 1:3-4).

Ephesians 6:17 - The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. The Word of God - the truth of the Word, its promises, the guidance it gives, the warnings, the commands, showing us what sins to avoid - helps us keep standing and moving forward in victory.

Ephesians 6:18 - Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. In prayer, we have direct access to God the Father and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is in prayer that God will direct, warn and strengthen us. In prayer, we meet with Him, who sits on the throne and explains to us all the things that we need to know and where we have fellowship with Him.

Through this spiritual armour, we are fully protected to keep standing against the wiles of the evil one.
