Seeds: What and Why Sample
Day 2- A New Seed
When children are born, immediately friends and relatives enjoy pointing out the characteristics that resemble the infant’s father and the mother. We do this because we know that the child is from the seed of their parents, and they share a similar genetic composition. Years pass, and we realize there are more than just visual similarities. Children often share mannerisms, thought processes, intellect, talents, and more, with their parents!
Who do you come from? What attributes did you get from them? What do people think when they hear your family name? These questions make some readers grateful but discourage most. If we are only made up of what came before us, then is that our fate, to become our parents in some way or another?
This is where Jesus steps in!
(1 John 3:9, [AMP])
“No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again—who is reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him” (1 John 3:9, [AMP]).
As a born-again person, you have within you, the very pattern, essence, and spiritual DNA, of your Father! This means our potential is now limitless, and we are made up of the same stuff that God is made of.
(Galatians 3:26, [AMP])
“For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26, [AMP]).
When a family member passes, unless there’s a written will that states otherwise, by default the nearest family member inherits all they possess. We see that in this new seed, we are given full rights and privileges as children of God! This inheritance is not something that we have to contend for, we’ve been reborn into it, and it is simply ours.
Meditate today on what it means to have God as your Father, what it means to be made up of the same stuff as He is!
