How To Teach Like JesusSample
"Wash, Rinse, Repeat"
When Mark tells us that Jesus began to teach them about what the Son of Man must suffer, he means that this was the beginning of a lesson that he would communicate again and again. Mark begins sprinkling his gospel with times Jesus reinforced this lesson.
When you really look at the gospels, you begin to see a few lessons jumping out that Jesus teaches multiple times in various ways. He taught over and over about humility, about the deceitfulness of riches, and about how the condition of our hearts matter the most to God.
He repeated himself because we learn by repeated exposure to the same experiences and lessons. Jesus was constantly finding new ways to drive home the same points because they were important to him.
If we want to teach like Jesus, we won’t be afraid to focus on one or two ideas or principles which become the hallmark of our platform. We shouldn’t be afraid of repeating ourselves. In fact, if we’re really concerned about whether our students learn from us, we’ll drive our point home at every single opportunity. Want to learn more about how to teach like Jesus?
