Discovery Pathway Classes - Baptism and Spirit-Filled LivingSample
The fifth activity to “grasp” God’s Word is meditating. Biblical meditation is deep contemplation about the Bible and God. This process accompanies the four previous actions: hear, read, study and memorize.
Meditating on God’s Word allows the Holy Spirit time and space to speak to you. To meditate on God’s Word, take a verse or two that stands out to you and sit with that verse. Read the verse, sit quietly, and ask the Holy Spirit to speak. Read the verse again and again throughout your day. Continue to think, pray, and listen to the Holy Spirit as you meditate on the Word of God. You will start to see God’s transforming work inside you.
As you read the passage from Luke today, choose one word, phrase, or verse to meditate on throughout your day. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you clearly and personally as you meditate on that scripture. Create times to sit quietly and listen without the distractions of everyday life. At the end of the day, reflect on the following: What has God been telling me through this scripture? What does He want me to do about it? If the Holy Spirit has given you an action step, make sure to follow his direction. Thank the Holy Spirit for using the scripture to speak to you today.

About this Plan
Spiritual growth does not happen by accident! Jesus made it clear that the pathway to spiritual growth comes through abiding with him. This study will help you abide with Jesus each day and grow as his disciple in four aspects of the faith: Understanding the significance of baptism. Learning to live a Holy Spirit-directed life. Experiencing the power of prayer. Hearing God's voice through his Word.
