Embracing Your Eternal PurposeSample
If you’re breathing, there’s a reason. We are not accidental. We were knit together with and for a Purpose. It’s one of the most recurring assurances in the Bible: that everyone, everywhere, has been created by God with a one-of-a-kind, Eternal Purpose.
Why, then, are such a small percentage living in it (or living it out)? We’re not taught enough that a Divine Intention for our life is a given, as nonnegotiable as our fingerprints, and as timeless as the Creator who designed it and set it in motion. The Bible says God set the stars in their place. How much more would He have placed you and established His Light within you?
Get comfortable with the idea of Divine Intention and Purpose being yours, and your reason for being. This is where you decide to move in a new direction and make a personal decision that you want more. There may be a cost or sacrifice. There will most certainly be a change.
Any time we learn something new, even for trivial interests or pastimes, we download a whole new set of tools and knowledge. Biking, photography, golf, cooking – we develop new habits, read things to learn how to reach our goals, make peer connections over shared interests, and even buy new “stuff” to use in pursuing our interests. How much more important is it to be intentional in our pursuit of something that could shift us to discover and live in our entire Life Purpose? Remember, this isn’t just about our individual lives, but it scales to a limitless, Eternal Stage. This is your Eternal Purpose – the things God has imagined not just for you – but for you to help write into the lives of those He loves around you.
Saying “this changes everything” is sometimes an overused phrase, but shifting your perspective of personal and Eternal Purpose, and the potential for your life in God’s Hands, truly means nothing is left unchanged – for you and for others. That’s worth the investment of your time and strength and according to God’s promises, it could be the greatest and most important way of living you’ve ever walked into.
