Thirsty

DAY 1 OF 3

Throughout the ages, in different contexts, human beings have always tried to live faster, achieve more, and encompass everything.

Today, we live frenetically and paradoxically; we are more paralyzed than ever. Fast food, online shopping, streaming platforms and social networks drive us at breakneck speed, and at the same time, they absorb all our time and paralyze our spiritual life.

All of us should drink water every day—between 1.7 and 3 liters a day, depending on our weight. Few people do; they forget. We live so fast that we forget one of our greatest physiological needs. How is this possible? The Word of God gives us the answer: the body is weak. The flesh, as the Bible calls our human nature, is defective because of sin. Our emotions and thoughts, our will, our desires, and our fears. Our whole natural being is affected and weakened. We want to live more, but we are living less. How do we fix it? Jesus already did. He paved the way for all believers around the world and in all ages to keep their lives focused, to prioritize, and to make the most of their time. Prayer connects us to the Father and puts us in the right direction over and over again; it defogs our lenses and helps us not lose focus. But why? He knows how much we need Him and how much it costs us to keep our spirits well-hydrated. We are thirsty for God—our spirits are—and we need to be connected to the Source so we don't forget Him.

Day 2

About this Plan

Thirsty

This three-day plan is intended to be an impetus to reactivate or boost your devotional life. We need God much more than we realize. We are thirsty even when we are not aware of it. Throughout these three days, God's Word will remind you how to quench your thirst.
