The Cry Of A Guilty Man
This man was guilty of a crime that was punishable by death. An adulterer, a murderer, and he failed to be a responsible leader to his people. If his picture were on today’s front-page newspaper, we would know him as King David. The reader knows that this “man after God’s own heart” had fallen from grace. The knock-out punch of the Prophet Nathan did him in. Did he run and hide to become an outlaw? No. Did he hire the best lawyers to defend himself? No. He had to face His God and man up. We read of his heart’s cry to restore a relationship he could not give up. We have the same God today that will forgive and restore us to Himself. What a prayer!
Prayer: Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. I desire Your presence and Holy Spirit. You know my heart, my life, my thoughts, my faults, and my failures. Thank you for the blood of Jesus. Make Your salvation in me complete. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
