Faith in Action - EmunahSample
Trusting the Silent Symphony of God's Guidance
Have you ever been to a circus? I have always been fascinated by trapeze artists. Their success hinges on their daring leaps from one bar to another. This act parallels our walk with God, requiring leaps of faith even when the next step isn't visible to our physical eye.
The concept of faith is beautifully embodied in the Hebrew word "Emunah," first used in Genesis 15 to depict Abraham's faith in action.
Let's delve into the Book of Esther with this lens. The book of Esther stands out because we witness supernatural miracles happening in it, without something miraculous happening. God is not mentioned even once in the book, and yet we see His hand guiding the decisions and events of even an ungodly kingdom, because of the faith of His people. God doesn't always provide overt signs or send prophets to deliver messages. Instead, His silent interventions shape our destinies.
- God's Preparatory Silence: Esther's upbringing as an orphan wasn't without purpose. She probably thought that she was abandoned by God. Yet, her adversities were a divine preparation for her future role as queen. Similarly, periods of God's silence in our lives often indicate that He is preparing us for greater things.
- God's Silent Elevation: Historical accounts point out that Esther had 400 contenders and she was the last of them all to meet the King. Yet, against all odds, she became the king's favorite and was crowned queen. This wasn't mere coincidence; God had silently been working and preparing the king's heart for Esther.
- God's Silent Protection: Haman had plotted evil against Mordecai. God knew of Haman's intentions long before they were made manifest, and He already had a plan for Mordecai’s protection and salvation.
- God's Silent Justice: Haman, who plotted against Mordecai, ends up facing the very fate he intended for Mordecai. God had silently worked to bring justice to Mordecai.
In moments when God seems silent, our faith shouldn't waver. Like trapeze artists leaping into the unknown, we must step forward, trusting that God's silent maneuvers are directing our path. He moves silently, but surely, like a master chess player strategizing every move.
Reflection time:
- What are those areas in your life wherein God is asking you to move in faith?
- What are those fears that are stopping you from acting in faith?
Have a little chat with God about all that you have written down.

About this Plan
Faith demands action! Biblical heroes demonstrated this faith by bravely embarking on the paths God set before them. Over the next 7 days, we'll delve into Esther's life, observing her dynamic faith. By launching out in faith, we submit to God's grand design for us. It's in taking those bold steps that we truly apply our faith in action and open ourselves to the blessings that await us.
