Different Life: 7th CommandmentNäide

There’s a great story of salvation where Jesus comes across a man despised for all the ways he took advantage of others. Jesus asks to go eat with him. People are aghast. But God’s grace does such a number on this man that he pledges to give half of all he owns to the poor and repay anyone he’s cheated four times the amount.
It’s a story about how God’s grace works. It’s a story about making it right.
Many of us are thieves and robbers. We take advantage of people, exploit them, and do what we can to get ahead even if it’s at their expense. But then God comes to us. We see our sin. He shows us His unconditional love and grace. He forgives us and saves us. And we think it’s the end.
But it doesn’t stop there. God wants you to make it right. Have you stolen? Tell Christ. By His death you are forgiven. But do something with that forgiveness. Seek to make right that which you’ve wronged.
How can you go about restoring who you’ve deprived? Make it an expression of your salvation today.

About this Plan

Christians are different. They can’t help it. When you’re born again and filled with the Spirit, it changes you. This leads to different values about right and wrong, and a different lifestyle to match it. This series of 5-day plans uses the 10 Commandments (following the classic Augustinian ordering) as a vehicle for an alternative, Christ-like morality and Jesus-way of living.
