DAY 2 OF 4

Day 2 - The Lord is My Shepherd

Would you believe that when I surrendered my life to God and started reading the Bible, I read it from A to Z but skipped the Psalms?

People assumed because I was a singer/musician I would love the Psalms. I didn't. It just didn't resonate with me. Then 2 years later, I was having a really bad day and I felt 'heavy' and I was so afraid I was having a relapse. God had freed me from 20+ years of living with depression and longing for death only 2 years ago at that time.

So I opened the Bible that morning and was led by the Spirit to Psalm 5.

"O Lord, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God". (Ps 5: 1,2 NLT).

BAM! From that moment on I was hooked on the Psalms. David has become my best friend. I get him, he gets me. I love his honesty.

I read on to Psalm 23. I know (now) it's a classic. But to me, it was so fresh, and now it's the gift that keeps on giving 🔥🙌 Enjoy!

Psalm 23 - The Lord is My Shepherd

1. The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.

2. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams.

3. He renews my strength.

4. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

5. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. My cup overflows with blessings.

6. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.

- All scripture from New Living Translation (NLT).
