Delight in God's Sovereignty

Ever since I was a child, one of the most deeply rooted convictions of my heart has been the sovereignty of God. I love the fact that God is too big, too glorious, too incomprehensible for me to be able to figure out! He knows everything. He can do anything. He loves perfectly. He has everything under control. And I belong to Him!

Daniel 4:35 declares: "He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hands or say to him: 'What have you done?'" The sovereignty of God! As I understand the Scriptures, my definition of God's sovereignty goes like this: "that our all-knowing, all-powerful God of perfect love is ultimately in control of all things. He never makes a mistake. His timing is always perfect. And I can completely trust Him with all the circumstances of my life."

Although I would never want to go back to being 18 again, if I could go back knowing what I know now, if I could change anything, it would be that I would trust God more! I would trust God more in every area of my life. How about you? As you look back, can you see God's provision and control over your circumstances?
