DAY 2 OF 7

Day 2: Seeking Wisdom

Opening Prayer:

Gracious Father, today I humbly ask you to help me point my human need for wisdom and understanding towards you. As educators, we encounter various challenges and decisions every day. Grant me and my team discernment and guidance, that we may navigate these situations with compassion and grace. Help me to be a light in this broken world. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Reflection:

Consider the areas in your work where you need wisdom the most. It could be handling difficult student behavior, addressing conflicts, making curriculum decisions, or managing time effectively. Reflect on the value of seeking God's wisdom in these areas and the impact it can have on your effectiveness as a school staff member, administrator, or teacher. When we are faced with these different challenges it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed out; we often take the pressure and weight of these moments onto ourselves. God offers us the freedom to live with open hands under an open Heaven, meaning we allow God into our situation and don’t try to hold tightly onto whatever it is we are up against. This sounds easier than it can be to practice, however, when we do this we are giving God the opportunity to intervene on our behalf. He equips us to handle situations we would otherwise be unable to apart from Him. There is no new challenge that God has not already come up against or found the solution for. Taking the time everyday to pray about how and why our reactions to these and other challenges matters, as well as discerning through the lens of God’s given wisdom, will allow for a refreshed and renewed mindset for each new day or challenge. We are not alone.

Prayer Focus:

Pray for God's wisdom to guide you in your daily responsibilities. Ask Him to provide insights, strategies, and solutions to the challenges you face. Pray for discernment in making decisions that align with His will and bring about positive outcomes for your students and colleagues.
