Don't Give Up!

DAY 2 OF 7

Moses

Moses had a lot of excuses as to why he wasn’t good enough to fulfill God’s calling. He was slow to speak and didn't know what to say. He assumed the Israelites wouldn’t listen to him; there had to be someone better. God told him to go anyway and tell the Pharaoh to let God’s people go. He finally obeyed, and Pharaoh said no . . . over and over again! When Pharaoh finally agreed to let them go, the Israelites stood in front of the Red Sea with an army coming from behind to capture them. The Israelites cried out, certain that they were going to die. I’ve wondered how Moses felt at that moment, and I believe he must have considered himself a complete failure.

Then God did one of the greatest miracles of all time – a miracle that would still be talked about 3,000 years later that even unbelievers know about! The Red Sea was parted, and the Israelites escaped to safety. I believe God wouldn’t have needed to perform the miracle if Pharaoh had just let the people go the first time. Moses had to fail according to the world's definition of failure for God's true glory to be displayed.

Sometimes the Lord calls you to something, but that doesn’t mean it will be successful – at least in your own eyes. He has a plan, and it is good. What God does will be worth all the failures.

Don't Give Up.

Have you ever felt like someone was coming against you? These three simple words are for you: don’t give up. The Lord has a plan and a purpose for your life. He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). You might not understand. It might be difficult. People might come against you, and it might feel like everyone is blaming you. It might feel like you have failed. Keep trusting God and wait because God is using your trial for something amazing.

About this Plan

Don't Give Up!

Read the stories of 7 people in the Bible who could have given up but didn’t. They were called with a purpose and persevered through difficulties and trials. They were people just like you and me! God wants you to know that whatever you are going through, don’t give up. He is using you for something good!
