Got Change?

DAY 1 OF 40

EYES OF FAITH

"I have to see it to believe it," is an all too common way of living nowadays - I see something, therefore it exists, and so I can comprehend or believe it.

While the world operates completely in this paradigm in its search for answers, explanations, proofs and theories, we as Christians are set apart for a higher calling - to live by faith and not by sight.

The author of Hebrews illustrates it beautifully in chapter 11, when he talks about the 'ancients', who were commended for their faith. They pleased God by living a life of faith, believing what they did not see, placing their assurance and confidence in their eternal God who never fails, and who always fulfills his promises. Through faith, they did great things that God set them apart to do. And by faith, they endured trouble and strife with the assurance that the hope of the promise of God was not limited to their mere lifespan on earth, but was for eternity.

Mark 4:35-41, tells us about how Jesus calmed the storm when he and his disciples were in a boat that was being thrashed by a furious storm. The disciples were afraid, and woke Jesus saying, "Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" After all the miracles they had witnessed, after seeing that Jesus is Lord, they still lacked faith! Jesus then commanded the wind and waves to cease, and the storm ended. He then went on to ask them, "Why are you so afraid? Don't you have any faith?"

This is what Christ asks you today - Do you have faith?

The CHALLENGE to Change:

Are you fearful, burdened or heavy hearted? Are you battling an illness, or facing persecution, or do you feel abandoned? Does your life seem like a never ending cascade of stormy seas? Does it seem like the promises of God are nowhere close to being fulfilled? Take heart, and have faith in God.

Do not limit your vision to the horizon of your life here on earth, but look beyond the raging seas. Look up with eyes of faith to see things the way God sees them. When you have faith, you can see beyond your circumstances.
Day 2

About this Plan

Got Change?

We keep talking about change, how much this world needs it. True change is not brought about by the formation of new laws, rather by the transformation of each one’s life. You will find in this Plan a reminder for each day of an area we need to change in and grow, prompting us into Christ likeness and becoming the change this world needs to see and emulate. So…..Got Change?
