The Power That Strengthens YouSample
YOU ARE STRONGER IN JESUS
The human body is quite complex and has an immune system responsible for protecting the body against attacks by external invaders such as viruses, bacteria, etc. Therefore, you must have good nutrition to strengthen your physical body.Likewise, you need to strengthen your faith in God to stand firm against the evil attacks which try to weaken you.
Certainly, you will hear a lot of news, but not all of it will be able to strengthen your faith. “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” This listening process is not simply noticing the sounds emitted by the words that are spoken, but listening carefully to put them into action.
Strengthening your faith is making it consistent and resilient against the storms of life. This means that a building is being constructed inside you with deep foundations so that your faith will be firm on good and bad days. Jesus said, “Everyone who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them into practice —I will show you what he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on bedrock. When a flood came, the river burst against that house but could not shake it, because it had been well-built. But the person who hears and does not put my words into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the river burst against that house, it collapsed immediately, and was utterly destroyed!”
When you build your life on the Rock, which is Jesus, your position of faith is in Him, your attitudes are based on His principles and the strength you need to face daily challenges comes from Jesus. Being firm on the Rock is making sure that your foundation is secure in the one who has power over all things and strengthens you so that you are not shaken internally by any situation that rises against you. Paul learned this secret, and even when he was in prison for preaching the gospel, he declared, “for I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Even if you are facing difficult days, decide to remain united with Christ and you will be strengthened by Him at all times.
