He Gives Us Courage

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
Psalm 31:24 KJV

Dear Lord, I pray that my children will turn to You for the courage they need to live righteously and well. I ask that You give them the wisdom to know right from wrong and the strength to do what they know to be right.

Sometimes, Father, we all face difficulties that almost overwhelm us, and we are tempted to give up hope. But You are always with us, Lord, always ready to guide us and protect us. So we can take comfort in the knowledge that You are our Shepherd, today and forever.

This is Your day, Lord. You have made it, and You have given it to us as a priceless gift. As a parent, I ask for Your guidance. As for my children, I ask that You lead them on the proper path—Your path—and that You give them the courage to do the right thing, even when it’s hard.

Amen.
