Leading With Confidence: Seven Affirmations for Leaders, a 7-Day Plan by Joy OguntimeinSample
Equipped
For the past several years, my church has hosted a back-to-school drive. The numerous donations from our members equip thousands of students and classrooms with the fundamental tools to thrive in school. Similarly, God equips us with “everything good” so we can thrive in our leadership calling.
On more occasions than I care to admit, I have run away, hidden, and even argued with God when He called me out of my comfort zone into the unknown to do hard things. I have wrestled with the assignment He’s given me because I did not feel worthy of His call. I am encouraged by the truth in Hebrews 13:21, which says God will “equip you with everything good for doing His will.” God calls AND equips me.
Fellow leaders, stand on this truth, God has provided everything for our salvation through Jesus Christ. He will also provide all we need to live and lead for His glory. He will equip us with whatever is needed to carry out His divine purpose.
Let us confidently step into God’s call for our lives by reminding ourselves of what Scripture says about who we are in Christ. We must use the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given us to lead well and make an eternal difference. We are loved. We are chosen. We are anointed. We are bold. We are complete. We are conquerors. We are equipped.
Affirmation: I am equipped to lead.
Reflection: In what areas have you felt like giving up? How does it affect you to know that you have everything you need in Christ to lead?
