Trusting God With Our Whole LivesSample
I Picked You Up. I Gave You a Firm Place to Stand.
So far, how is the image of you as a child with your heavenly Father impacting how you view your relationship with God? As we read Part 3 of this week's message, let's keep our hearts humble and open.
Part 3:
Your hard work to be strong left you exhausted. You grew tired of stepping forward alone. There had to be another way to keep going. You had grown weary from the effort of holding all your fears and pain so tightly. Your grip had to loosen. You just couldn't hold on anymore.
And your Dad says to you now, “And I picked you up. I gave you a firm place to stand. I showed you my strength when you let me give you eyes to see. You let me take the pain. You let me take the worry. I was the one who could carry the burdens and carry you, too.
"Before, you weren’t letting yourself be my child. Protected. Safe. Worry-free. Held. Carefree. And now ... now that you have trusted me ... you reign over kingdoms. My kingdoms, with me.
"You reign because you let me lead. You reign because I love you. You reign because my delight in you never ends. You reign because when I look at you, I see my glory shining forth, and it brings me delight. You reign because I give you everything I have, and you want it. So I give you more. And you accept it. And I give you more. It will never stop, did you know?
"My love for you will never end. It will never tire. It will never lessen or get depleted. Also, there is no risk of falling behind when you desire to walk in step with me. You are always on time. You are always protected. You are always my beloved. So watch for more gifts for you. Watch for more opportunities to journey farther and deeper. Watch for how I teach you to join me as I give you more responsibilities. You can do all things through me. Let’s keep going, son, daughter. Just wait until you see what’s next, together, as you walk in step with me.”
Put your flag in the ground. What promise—in these words for you—are you believing now?
