30DaysOfBibleLettering - Round 4 Sample
But I trust in your unfailing love.
Psalm 13:5 NIV
Faith is hard. We don't always feel faith. There are ups and downs, and sometimes God can feel distant. I have been a Christian nearly my entire life, and it's only been in my recent adult years that I am understanding what it takes to be a true follower of Christ. It's not easy. I struggle with negative thoughts. I let the enemy in and let him control parts of my life that he shouldn't. At times I feel so distant from God. I feel I let Him down almost daily. It’s important that I keep my eyes fixed on Him and trust that no matter how many times I let Him down, ultimately, He won't let me fail.
Psalm 13 is a reminder to always keep your trust in Him no matter how distant He might feel. Even when things don't feel right, even when you don't feel His presence near, we must remember that faith isn't a feeling. It's trust - even in times of uncertainty. To me, the most impactful part of this verse is the word "but." Just three letters connecting the struggle of the circumstance to the Promise He has made to us. No matter what the world throws at me, I can always trust in His unfailing love.
