Abraham - A Man Of Faith

“That’s impossible, there is just no way that it could happen. I’m so, so old!” Said Abraham. God had given Abraham a promise. It was a promise that seemed so outrageous, so beyond belief that Abraham and his wife Sarah thought God must have been joking. God promised Abraham that he would have many many descendants. You see this was a promise that didn’t seem possible at all, for  Abraham and Sarah didn’t even have one child, let alone many! 

Abraham and Sarah were old. Very old. Older than your grandparents, maybe even older than your great grandparents and God told them that they would have a baby. Now, you don’t see many elderly women walking around pregnant do you? No! It’s basically impossible!

Faith is trusting God to do what only God can do. We can have faith and trust in God. God keeps His promises, even when they seem impossible! Sure enough, God kept His promise to Abraham and Sarah, they had a son. They named Him Isaac just as God had told them to. We can have faith and trust in God. God keeps His promises.

Dear God, Help us to live life with bold faith, trusting in your promises for our lives. We know that we can have faith and trust in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen
