Exodus

Have you ever tried to drive forward while looking backward? How did it work out for you? Of course, it wouldn’t have gone well because it’s dangerous and just, well...wrong. How can you possibly know where you’re going if you only look in your rearview mirror? You’ll miss your exits, swerve out of the lane, crash into other drivers, and potentially run off the road.

In John 8:34-36, Jesus tells us that He’s set us free, that we’re no longer slaves to sin. The Amplified version says that if the Son makes you free, then you are unquestionably free. Thanks and praise to Jesus; we’ve been set free from a life where sin controls us and keeps us separate from God. Now we’re free to live free!

Knowing that you’re no longer a slave to sin but have been set free indeed, don’t spend any time looking back! Keep moving forward, following the leading of the Holy Spirit, and like "Exodus" encourages us, "Gonna leave behind everything I used to be." You’re free now.

Don’t ya know? "This is our exodus."

Take away challenge: Identify any areas in your life where you may be looking back or holding onto your old ways. Lay it all before Jesus and grab hold of the freedom He offers.
