Faith & Love: A One Year Bible Reading Plan - Part 1Näide

We all need encouragement to get through challenging times in our lives.
We need things that offer us stability and certainty when our circumstances can seem to be changing. This chapter is really Jesus offering that certainty to his disciples. He tells them, again and again, to hold on to his words, to remember the things he has spoken to them.
He tells them that there is a future of hope, a time when sorrows will be turned to joy, a promise of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of truth, who will guide and speak.
Jesus repeats the things he has told his disciples because he doesn’t want them to fall away and because he wants them to remember. Some things are sure and certain. By holding onto those we find we can stand in the most challenging of situations.
During the typhoon season, the boats in Hong Kong harbor are anchored in the typhoon shelter – a protected port area where they couldn’t be damaged or blown about. Despite the fiercest of storms, you can see that in the morning the boats would be secure and safe.
Jesus' words to his disciples 2000 years ago reminded them that they could be secure. Those same promises speak to us today.
