Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

DAY 60 OF 366

Hold onto His Promises

While growing up, I clearly remember my father teaching me the importance of keeping a promise. If I said that I would do something for someone, it was important for me to keep my word and not go back on the promise I had made. When you give someone an assurance, isn’t it important to reinforce their trust in your words?
If we, as human beings in our limited capacity, strive to fulfil our pledges, how much more will God, in His divine power, make sure that He keeps His promises? Numbers 23:19 (NIV) says, God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfil?
God doesn’t lie and He surely keeps His promises! He has promised to supply all our need (Philippians 4:19), to forgive our sins and heal our diseases (Psalm 103:2-5), to deliver us from trouble (Psalm 50:15), and more. If He has made these promises, will He not also keep them?
When we’re going through difficult times, it is easy to seek comfort in people or things. But realize, that the comfort that they bring is only temporary. God’s promises are infallible and when He fulfils them, the completion brings peace and comfort. So, grab hold of the Word of God, go through all the promises it contains for your life, claim them and begin to see God working in your situations.

Prayer
Father, I thank You for Your Word. I believe that in my suffering, Your promises will bring comfort to me. As I claim them and seek them for my life, I will see You move in whatever circumstances I am going through. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
