Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

DAY 160 OF 366

Say No to Spiritual Leprosy

Naaman, the commander of the Aramean army, submitted himself to the command of God through His prophet, Elisha. He dipped himself in the ‘dirty’ waters of the Jordan River and got healed of leprosy completely.
Elisha wanted Naaman to know that it is God’s will to heal people and that God cannot be bought with money or anything else. So, while Naaman obeyed the prophet’s orders, Elisha’s servant, Gehazi, disobeyed by running after Naaman for money! Gehazi knew how the prophet operated. Yet his greed blinded him and he not only misrepresented his master, but also the Almighty God. As a result, Gehazi got Naaman’s leprosy on himself and even on his descendants!
In our spiritual life too, we can experience spiritual leprosy, a spiritual numbness, if we do not obey God-given authority in our lives! God wants us to live carefully, so that we can represent our Heavenly Father well to those around us. The key is to submit to the Holy Spirit. Those who are led by the Spirit are the sons of God. For if you live by the power of the Spirit, you put to death the misdeeds of the body and we experience life (Romans 8:12-14).
The moment we realize that it is difficult for us to submit to God-given authority or take correction with the right attitude, we should run to God boldly to obtain mercy and grace to overcome this weakness (Hebrews 4:16). We should not be tolerant at all with these weaknesses in our lives. God is gracious and He will give us victory!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I choose to submit to the authority that You have placed in my life! Help me not to give into my own desires but submit to You completely in everything. Amen.

About this Plan

Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
